Traveling is a form of practical art, utilized by many of us. And safety is a supplement that needs to be guaranteed, unless you would want to get stranded in the mist.

BEFORE THE TRIP

Before you even think of undertaking any serious voyage or trip — that may lethally paint harmful memories into your life — you should inform your loved ones, friends, and family. Regardless of where you go, at least make sure you have someone nearby your destination — in case situations get desperate. And why would not it be a good idea to do so?

Pack your bags with care. Make it absolutely sure that you are taking adequate supplies. You do not have to place burdens over yourself just to carry unnecessary extras; you do not have to be a pack mule — only take supplies that you think you may need most, such as food, water, first aid kits, etc. Water, yes! A very essential substance it is, that MUST be included in your arsenal of survival.

Is it a good idea to assimilate survival knowledge into your mind, beforehand? Well, not necessarily true, but, if you can implement those skills (and perhaps even radiate some of your knowledge to a friend in need), you will be a man with a golden claw. Yet, keep in mind that you may need to judge yourself with caution, as many experienced people find themselves trembling like cowardly cats when they face the music. If you are headed for a tropical location, you should learn to adjust with the alien climate as fast as a bullet…otherwise, you will be a polar bear in the midst of the Sahara desert.

And obviously it is a holy opportunity to rid yourself from any phobias or stress before you set foot to the tour; eat a plethora of nutritious food and prepare yourself through exercise. Do war and survival have any differences at all?

DURING THE TRIP

Keep your eyes peeled for danger…but not really. Your trip’s experience depends on your behavior, so if you always try to remain on the safe side, you will be sitting in good fate’s sanctuary (unless, ofcourse, you are a major sinner or an enemy of mother nature). As always, when there’s will, there’s way!

Stay out of trouble and remain determined that at least one person is accompanying you like a shadow. Why would you want to stay solitary at the hour of highest priority?

Try the hardest grit of effort that you do not trail off from range; you may get lost and then your life may also lose you.

IF STRANDED

Even if you do follow all the pieces of advice and instructions that I had beautifully laid down, in the earlier section of this article, you may still mess up your journey. If that happens, there is only one person to blame — yourself.

Anyways, we are all humans and we all make mistakes, since it is part of our nature. When we find trouble, we need to solve it, since it is also part of our nature. So if you are ever stranded, keep your spirits boosted up with a motivation that “tomorrow I shall see the new light of dawn again” or “I must not miss my friend’s party tomorrow”, etc.

Do not lose hope, keep faith’s flame lit in your heart, and remain in the shade during daylight hours — try to prevent the Sun’s heat stealing energy and water from your selfish body. Enjoy the true act of survival, and perhaps even record your vlogs via a phone or camera — as long as your mind is positive being stranded would not let unhappy thoughts breach into your trip.

It is best to work in the dark, not because it seems ‘cool’ and ‘sinister’, but because being a nocturnal ninja actually helps to cut down on sweat and unwanted ‘weather-incompatibility’ issues. How else could someone walk along, stray and sun-burnt?

So hold tight, keep the vital points in mind, and good luck on your journey! Bon voyage!
